While we specialise in tasty meat dishes we are regularly asked to supply a vegetarian option when providing catering services in Auckland and you know us – what the customer wants the customer gets. So we’re keen to provide tasty vegetarian meals that rival if not surpass our meat dishes.
We were recently introduced to a new meat substitute – Quorn. Quorn is a meat free, soy free mince, perfect as a meat substitute. We put it to the test, cooking up a Chilli Con Carne – except in this instance it was Chilli Quorn Carne – a vegetarian take on the usual meat containing classic. And it was a hit! We even had to take some information on Quorn along to convince some of our vegetarian diners that they were not eating meat!
This delish new dish has now cemented itself onto our vegetarian menu along with Roast Vegetable Medley and Vegetable Lasagne. Given the success of using Quorn we’re currently exploring other recipe ideas so stay tuned for additional dishes being added in future such as delicious Cottage Pie (pictured).
